PMP exam preparation in next 40 days
hi all,
I had a criteria to take my exam by 1st week of june as after that i will be busy..with other assignments.
Now its nearly may and still i have not able to apply for my exam date as due in audit.
Before the audit, i had gone through once the pmbok and some topics in headfirst, and was due in the second time with more concentration reading topics and answering the questions until integration and was feeling quite good with 80% results.
Now slowly my interest went off so past 20 days i had not studied .. much.
Now i have restarted and now finishing time management.
How much time will we need to be thorough in the topics to apply for exam. Though i feel possible with 40 days, i am still not getting the confidence to put in the dates.
Is it realistic to have a schedule in june ? give your thoughts ..

I think it's definitely realistic to prepare in 40 days provided you can put in 3-4 hours a day, every day. The hours could be less on weekdays and more on weekends. But make sure you don't miss out on your studies for more than a day in a row because it's hard to stop and start.
You would need approximately 150 hours of solid (without distractions) study time.
Spend a day or two on planning first. Get your study material ready, list down the books your want to read, and exams you want to attempt, etc. (scope). Put together a schedule. Keep some contingency in the plan for days when things don't go as per the plan (risks).
Then start working toward your plan, monitoring and controlling along the way ...
Good luck.
