  • Hello Mohsin,

It depends on various factors. I'll just give a rough guideline here.

    1. If you have recently attended a PMP course, then you should try to take the exam within 4-6 weeks of completing the course with an average of 2 hours / day of prep.

    2. If you have taken or are taking an online course (i.e. using a DIY approach), you should be able to pass the exam with 2 hours / day of prep over 3 months.

You mileage may vary depending upon your background and experience.

    Hope that helps.

  • Dear Mohsin,

Considering that you are not an experienced PM, then normally, 3-4 months with an avg of 3 hrs / day of studies. It varies your study habits. Sometime people forget the points. so revision is very important. If you have a study partner, it is very good.

I hope this will help you.

  • I've heard that you need 100-200 hours of studying (not including the class) to pass the test. I think I did less than 100, maybe closer to 75-80 hours. But with the students I teach, when they start to study in the 200 hours range, they are over studying. They aren't really learning the concepts or how everything fits together. They are just trying to memorize everything. Unfortunately, many of them fail using this method.
