Can Compliance training be treated as PDU?

I have attended Compliance & Corporate Ethics training from my employer. Can I include this training as PDU?

Hi Mrinmoy,

You may be able to claim PDUs for this course depending upon the course content. If the course is related to project management in some way, you can claim PDUs under Category B either for the full course or part of the course. General rule is: 1 hour of project management education = 1 PDU.

Without knowing much about the course, it's hard to say how many PDUs you can claim for it. So use your own judgment when claiming PDUs. Remember that at the time of certification renewal, PMI might audit your application.

Thanks Harwinder for your reply. My training was related to professional responsibility and Compliance & Ethics. I claimed already and it was approved.

Hi Mrinmoy,

Just FYI, the approval is not an issue and is usually an automatic process done by the system. As long as all the particulars are filled in properly, the PDUs would get approved, but that doesn't exempt one from audit. The audit is done at the time of certification renewal. Applications are selected randomly for audit, as is the case with the original PMP certification application.
