    @Usksensei Welcome to PM Hangout.

    It's fine to refer at other people's application but it won't be a good idea to copy
    the content from it.

    Filling the PMP application form is not that complicated. Here are a few tips that may help you:

    1. Assuming you have a bachelor's degree, you need to at least 4500 hours (about 3 years) of non-overlapping project management experience in the past 8 years.
    2. Non-overlapping experience means that if you are managing 2 projects simultaneously for 6 months, it will count as a total of 6 months of experience, not 12 months.
    3. You need to have experience across all 5 process groups, but it's not necessary to have experience across all 5 process groups in each project. For example, in some projects, you may have experience Initiating the project, but left the project before it was closed. That is fine, as long as you have experience Closing some other project.
    4. There's no stipulated minimum or maximum number of hours for a particular process group, but you can use the following as a guideline:

      • Initiating : 5-10% of the experience hours
      • Planning : 20-25%
      • Executing : 25-30%
      • M&C : 25-30%
      • Closing : 5-10%
    5. There are many Excel sheet templates available online, to log the experience. Document all your experience in the spreadsheet first. It will save you time while filling up the application form later.

    6. Summarize your experience across each project in about 2-3 paragraphs. It should be aligned with the experience hours that you are claiming for the project.
    7. Be as truthful as possible, and make sure you have the backing of your current or previous supervisor/manager should your application be audited. The supervisor would be required to certify (sign) on your application form in case of an audit.

    Hope that helps. Good luck with your application.

  • it makes perfect sense, and I don't want to copy but it is nice to see a reference. how they wrote it etc.

    Sure. I've updated the subject to "PMP application samples for reference". My application was done more than a decade ago and may not be useful to you, but I hope others who have applied more recently can help. You can also search on Google to see if you can find some samples.
