Calculating ES, EF and activity duration

The instruction regarding creating a network diagram differs depending on the prep book being used. One book says day 1 is zero and another book says day 1 is one. Does this make a difference? Which is the correct way for the PMP exam? thanks, hope this makes sense

Hi,

The answer to your question is now in the PMBOK Guide, 5th Edition.

Refer to Ch 6, Pg 177.

It uses the notation of starting the project at Day 1.

The Guide (it's mentioned on the Errata sheet of the version I'm using) also acknowledges that there are other accepted conventions that may be used. That is a clear reference to starting the project on Day 0.

For the purpose of the PMP exam, I'll start with Day 1.
