Interactive. Why do you think they can be 'push'?

I found this question on Heldman edition 5 on PMI eread section and they said status meeting are push. I was surprised too.
Answer was --According to the PMBOK® Guide, status meetings are a form of push communication.
I could not find this in PMBOK though
Thanks

In Singapore, there's a commonly used Chinese term called "Kiasu". You might have heard it as well. In literal sense, it means "fear of losing". It's usually used in the context of parenting as in "Kiasu Parents" (there's a famous parenting forum by that name too).
In your case, I think it's safe to call you "Kiasu PMP" (aspirant). LOL.
Going by your ways, I think you'll pass the exam

PMBOK says status meetings are push so for test status meetings are push. Its strange having a standard that no one agrees to but that is life.
@hwatkins
As per PMBOK Guide, 4th Edition says (Ch. 10, Pg, 256) - Meetings are "Interactive" communication. Please double-check.
Even otherwise, how can meetings be 'push' anyway?
Thanks.

Most meetings are interactive but status meetings are meant to report on status. See bottom of Pg 269.
This is from the bottom of Pg 269:
The first statement says status meetings are used to "exchange" information. Isn't the word "exchange" a big enough clue to say that status meetings are an "interactive" communication mode?
The second statement about "push communication" is referring to "Report Performance" process (distribute performance reports), and not to Status Meetings.
Hope we are clear now.

In Kim's book on PMP Prep this question is asked and the answer (pg 445) is "based in PMBOK status meetings are push". I'll try to contact Kim to see if this answer is still valid.
Hi there,
